When what’s important becomes urgent.

When we don’t take care of what’s important, what’s important becomes urgent. 

The social unrest we’re experiencing in our country is bringing into sharp focus the unaddressed wounding that lead to it.  Racial discrimination, prison reform, education inequities, poverty level subsistence, social injustice – all these are the roots of the upheaval we’re living through.  When the importance of this work is minimized, our society erupts and urgency demands that our police maintain order.

History does not repeat itself.  The opportunity for history to repeat itself repeats itself.  If we make a different choice at the same opportunity, we make a different history.  Seeing this time in our history as the labor necessary to birth a new society is the choice we must make now.  A choice that works for everyone.  One that works for sustainability, justice, and fairness.
